Yelp’s COVID-19 Response and Support for Local Businesses

“Yelp announced $25 million in relief, primarily focused on supporting independent local restaurant and nightlife businesses, in the form of waived advertising fees, and free advertising, products and services, during this period. As part of this relief effort, restaurants and nightlife businesses that remain open will receive free access to Yelp page upgrades, including Business Highlights and Call To Action, as well as Connect, which will help them communicate timely information to their customers. Restaurants will also receive three months of free access to Yelp Reservations and Waitlist. For restaurant clients that offer delivery and/or takeout, we’ll provide $100 in free search advertising. In addition to waiving advertising fees for independent restaurant and nightlife clients during this period when they’ve been most impacted, we’re also offering support for independent local advertisers in other categories that are struggling to pay their bills during this difficult time.”

GoFundMe Small Business Relief Fund

“The GoFundMe.org Small Business Relief Fund will provide micro-grants to qualifying small businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Small Business Relief Fund is part of the Small Business Relief Initiative : a program supported by GoFundMe, Yelp, and Intuit QuickBooks. The Small Business Relief Initiative will supply financial assistance and support to businesses across the country by providing grants, tools, and resources to help during the crisis.

GoFundMe, Yelp, and Intuit QuickBooks have pledged to donate up to $1.5 million in donations into the GoFundMe.org Small Business Relief Fund. Until that Fund is depleted, GoFundMe.org will continue issuing $500 matching grants to qualifying businesses. Additional companies are expected to contribute to this Fund in the coming weeks, in order to provide much needed aid to even more businesses across the country.”

Amazon’s Neighborhood Small Business Relief Fund

“Our goal with this fund is to help our neighborhood small businesses maintain their livelihood, and continue to foster a vibrant community.

To be eligible for a grant, recipients must have fewer than 50 employees or less than $7 million in annual revenue.

Interested neighborhood small businesses can apply for grant support by completing this application. We will review applications as they are received and for those determined to be eligible for a grant, we will disburse funds as quickly as possible. Businesses are eligible to apply for additional grant support due to reduced foot traffic over an extended period of time.”
