Destiny Art Opening
Friday, February 7th, 6PM – 10PM
Jersey City Theater, Jersey City
Jersey City Theater Center presents DESTINY: LOCAL TO GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES, an exhibition exploring the multiple meanings of destiny in the world today. The show is curated by Atim Annette Oton, Jersey City Theater’ Center’s art curators who posed the questions for artists to respond to:
What is Destiny? Are we bound for destiny or does destiny happen to us? Is it coincidence or synchronicity? Do we determine our fate or victims of it? What does our society of diverse & complex human beings believe or avoid believing? What are the cultural norms and do conform to or rebel against those norms? Do artists create, interpret or include destiny?
Destiny features a group of 16 culturally diverse artists:
Geraldine Anderson Gaines, Ian “Billy Bones” Murphy, Nanette Reynolds Beachner, Grigory Gurevich, Catalina Aranguren, Janhavi Firke, Erin Kuhn, Lawrence Ciarallo, Monika Kalra, Tyber Qalipu Mishipeshu Murphy, Donchelle Fulwood, Duda Penteado, Anna Kasperowitz, David James, Cecilia Martinez, and Akil Roper.

Jersey City Oddities Market

Harborside, Jersey City
FOURTH annual Til Death Do Us Part Valentine’s market.
Here you’ll find over 80 of the strangest artists, crafters, and collectors from the tristate area and beyond.
Featuring past favorites like Brain Fever Artwork, Lonely Bones Jewelry, Down to the Bone Designs- and over two dozen brand new vendors like The Golden Sickle, Surgical Circus, and more.
Tables will range from taxidermy, to bone jewelry, antiques, original art work, vintage, photography prints, human bones, skulls, and all things in between.
The venue is located at 210 Hudson Street Jersey City NJ and is accessible and dog friendly. The Harborside financial center light rail stop is right outside of the building entrance, and the Harborside NY Ferry stop is right at the back entrance. Exchange place and Grove path stations a few minute walk. Paid public parking one block away.
As always, we do NOT charge admission for guests to shop or browse all of the amazing work- but $3 donations are encouraged and appreciated.

We no longer allow the sale of any imported bats or imported bat parts, or resale jewelry or enamel pins. Applications with any such items will be ignored.
