Weehawken

Weehawken’s close proximity to New York City makes it very desirable. Commuters have the options of a quick bus ride over the Lincoln Tunnel, the option of a ferry, or they can take the Light Rail to the Hoboken PATH station.

Weehawken is another Gold Coast city that proves that the best views of New York are over in New Jersey. Great parks, waterfront restaurants and a great school system have attracted many to the city, but the beauty of this area is what keeps them. Many also like the fact that Weehawken has a more neighborhood feel than New York City and nearby Hoboken and Jersey City. Local officials have long opposed the high-rise construction to preserve the township’s beautiful Manhattan views.

It is located on the western shore of the Hudson River along the southern end of the New Jersey Palisades across from midtown Manhattan. It is bordered by Hoboken, West New York and Union City.

Weehawken has many efficient routes into New York City. You take NJ transit buses or the privately-operated minivans or use the New York Waterway ferries and water taxis. The City of Weehawken offers a free waterfront shuttle transportation for its residents during rush hours. Access to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail also provides transport around Weehawken and other areas of NJ.
